Memories of Paris

Nine years ago my Husband and I spent three wonderful weeks in Paris for our 10th wedding anniversary. We loved every minute of our time there, and didn't want to leave.

Paris is one of our favourite cities. We have been lucky to go there on 3 occasions, twice on our first overseas holiday (back in 1998), then again in 2006 for our anniversary.

Watching the atrocities of last Friday's terrorist attack unfold on the TV these past couple of nights has really disturbed me. Like so many other people, I am in complete shock. I can't help but feel for those poor people who lost their lives while enjoying their Friday night. Those people who were attending a soccer match, dining out, or listening to a concert.

I have seen enough of the grim photos from last week, and instead want to pay homage to this beautiful city by sharing some of my favourite photos and memories (I have many many photos of Paris so had to restrain myself by not sharing all of them!)....and yes we did take a lot of photos of the Eiffel Tour!

  1. Gorgeous photo's of Paris Julie and a lovely homage to a beautiful city! I haven't been there yet but it is on my wish list. What happened there and other countries is despicable and heartbreaking. I have had a very heavy heart for days. xo

  3. We have been several times as well. Your photos are like postcards - perfectly capturing the city. My in laws live in Brittany and we are heading over in March. It is such a terrible situation and I know many people are affected because it is someplace they have been or dream of going. The world has gone mad though- so many unnecessary deaths every month now between terrorism and general gun violence, it makes me so sad and I admit I cannot watch the news. I have not looked at any negative photos from Paris - just the uplifting, kindness driven beautiful ones xxx

  4. It's lovely to see some of your photos.
I've never been and quite honestly, I don't feel the urge to go. But I've never really been bitten by the travel bug, so that's probably why :)

  5. I've been to Paris too and would love to go back one day. The terror attacks really shook me up too especially since I had a friend who just got back from there a fortnight before the attacks. #teamIBOT

  9. What gorgeous pictures and memories! I'm yet to go to Paris but after all this I'm a little scared. My Mum was there just months ago. We will see, if the world continues to be crazy I'll settle for a few French films ;) xx
